I am so, so, so privileged to be able to photograph the weddings of lovely people, and I am so, so, so lucky to be invited to other countries to do it.
I had met both Lynne and Dan before, when photographing the wedding of Lynne’s sister Julie, in Fiji. When Julie got in touch with me and told me they were wanting to book me for their North Island nuptials I was so excited – I hadn’t been to New Zealand since I was a kid, and I had been really keen to travel there and see it through grown-up eyes.*
The wedding day was perfect. Warm, sunny, and filled with love and laughs. This family are truly gorgeous people, and they welcome me like a guest and as a friend. It is so special to be a part of their celebrations.
Yes, usually I share a lot more photos from a wedding. This one is short and sweet, respecting the privacy of the lovely couple. If you would like to see more of my wedding work, just click on one of my other wedding or elopement blog posts here.
Big thank you to Sonny for second shooting for me, and for being my travel-buddy.

Makes me smile.
*Everyone talks about the beauty of the South Island of New Zealand, but the North Island was incredible too. Not only is the countryside so picturesque, but I love all things geothermal, and that place has bubbling and boiling earth in spades. I went to so many active sights, dipped in many mineral pools, and we even choppered in and landed on Whakaari, an active volcano in the middle of the ocean, which was hands down the most amazing experience in my life (well, aside from having babies and stuff).
