What Other People Say

Let’s face it, I could say anything I wanted about myself, but what are other people saying about me as a photographer?

Read their testimonials here.

“Last month, Jacqui Turner from Running Under The Sprinkler came to Tassie to photograph our garden wedding weekend.
The brief was simple: absolutely no posed or set-up photos.
As lovers of authenticity, we were keen to avoid anything airbrushed or sanitised and instead wanted a collection of images to remember our wedding day by that was candid, natural and raw.
Jacqui and I share the same aesthetic North Star so really, it was a natural fit. Roughly speaking, our shared aesthetic bent translates as appreciating the beauty of imperfection or, as the Japanese say so succinctly, ‘wabi sabi’.
From the casual mess of a household preparing for a wedding to our unfinished house renovation to a garden that was deep in drought, we wanted all of it to be recorded for us to look back on and remember in unvarnished splendour.
Jacqui’s work transcends ordinary wedding photography and becomes something that straddles social documentary/social commentary and high art. By inviting the viewer in to share the space with the subject, she makes each shot feel meaningful, authentic and profoundly intimate.
Jacqui and her second shooters Belle and India (who, incredibly, were still only 17 years old at the time of the wedding!) have a rare ability to be unobtrusively present and to somehow make the subject feel safe and at ease, even while shooting intensely personal situations.
Thank you to Jacqui, Belle + India for their incredible commitment to our wedding weekend.” – Heidi and Jaben

Family
“Jacqui, thanks so much for our awesome photos I’m so in love with them. The whole experience was fantastic. I’m a bit awkward in front of the camera and my daughter can be shy, but I found your relaxed and friendly style made the shoot easy and even fun and Lexie was your best mate in 5 mins. Your personal ease and unintrusive process is reflected in the quality and number of beautiful, natural, authentic images you captured. In summary, a pleasurable morning together, beautiful memories of our growing family and amazing value for money.” – Sarah Hood

“Jacqui is simply amazingly gifted photographer and captures an emotion, a feeling, a moment perfectly. She doesn’t use flash or staging. Also heaps of photos.
As you may guess I am a HUGE fan of her work and some my favourite photos came out of our shoot at Luna park. However my girls didn’t even realise they were being photographed, they loved Jacqui, who they just met and just wanted to hang out with her. High praise from one shy girl and one tough critic.
Please if you are thinking of photos for family event or Xmas or just because, have a look at running under the sprinkler.
And no Jacqui didn’t pay me for the above or have any influence- I absolutely love her work.” – Mandie Jane

“We have had the privilege of having Jacqui at two of our family weddings, which goes without saying she (and Sonny) delivered the most amazing photos both times and if you are lucky enough for them to be available on your wedding date, then BOOK THEM IN! But, we also managed to sneak in a wee candid session at home and the beauty of having a photographer with the stealthy ninja skills, meant that we got some of the ‘real’ shots without having to pose unnaturally in front of her. It really was just like having a good catch up with a friend, she just happened to take the best photos while we were at it. You will not regret any photoshoot you do with Jacqui and you will have a lifetime of love every time you look at her photos.” – Julie and Graeme

“Jacqui no words can describe how grateful I am for the breathtaking images you captured of my second sons birth!! I reached out to you when I was pretty much ready to pop at 38 weeks hoping you were available and boy am I glad I didn’t listen to my husband who was very hesitant to have a photographer present. Luke is now converted and absolutely adores the images you captured too! You were so incredibly professional and literally a fly on the wall capturing the most beautiful images of our son entering the world. Months on I look back at your images and it takes me back to that moment when my heart grew that little bit bigger and it reminds me of how powerful and strong my body is to have carried and brought my boys into the world. I love looking at the images from a different angle and witnessing the birth in a different way, just so special! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, I cannot recommend you enough!” – Mandy and Luke

Father and daughter
“We’ve now had four family shoots with Jacqui @ Running Under the Sprinkler and several of her photos are hanging around our house – that says it all! Since our first child through to our third, we’ve been incredibly impressed by her beautiful, natural shots, professional but laid back approach, and flexibility to work with the unpredictability of small children! We also love that Jacqui gives you access to all her shots (rather than holding you to ransom…!) – makes the whole experience so enjoyable. Highly recommended.” – Gemma and Roge

“Jacqui and I found each other on Facebook and right away I knew we had found our photographer for our wedding in Fiji. Knowing that Jacqui had visited the Shangri-La many times before our wedding, I knew that she would know all the places to get thy perfect picture. And that Jacqui did. I do not like getting my picture taken at the best of times but Jacqui made us feel very comfortable and we had so much fun. My trash the dress shoot the day after our wedding was one of my favourite moments on our holiday. Jacqui is fabulous, enthusiastic and weaves this throughout her professionalism with her photos and we are so incredibly blessed to have her as a part of our big day. We have definitely made friends for life. Thanks Jacqui” – Carla Lennox

“Jacqui’s photography is divine! What an incredible eye for capturing light at play. Her portraits are intimate, natural and wholesome. Each photo is a treasure. Thank you.” – Kitti. Cosmic Rose

“I first met Jacqui when she photographed my sister’s wedding in Fiji in 2014 and then in Spring 2018 Jacqui kindly photographed our wedding in Hamilton, New Zealand.
We loved not only the gorgeous photos we received but also Jacqui’s natural down to earth style. Sonny was great as second photographer and he worked well in tandem with Jacqui, both keeping under the radar but also being where they needed to be for each shot. They also worked smoothly and professionally alongside our two videographers.
A fab team and Jacqui was a pleasure to deal with both before and after the wedding. Thanks so much! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – would totally recommend!” – Lynne – Auckland, New Zealand

“When our second and last bubba was born, we knew we wanted to have some photos taken so we could all look back and reminisce. When I found Running Under The Sprinkler, I just loved the documentary style of the photography and booked in. Little did I know how perfect it would be! Jacqui came over to photograph us all when my bub was just 7 days old and was going through a phase of constantly feeding. Jacqui never made me feel rushed or uncomfortable and I managed to relax while she took some beautiful photos of my eldest son and husband. The moments Jacqui managed to capture of my family are simply magical and I can’t wait to book in again soon!” – Pippa Tunnicliffe
